Earthwork & Blasting

Redco International entered the earthworks market in 2006 as a main contractor. Our first project was the Enabling works package "Lusail CP0" for Qatari Diar, where we executed 20million cubic metres of drilling & blasting and a 16km long precast marina retaining wall.

We are the leading drilling & blasting company in Qatar with a proven track record since 2006. By the grace of God, we have an excellent safety record, and are proud to be an authorized drilling & blasting company by the Ministry of Interior with a team of licenced drilling & blasting engineers and a fleet of Atlas Copco cm470 drilling machines.

- Barwa Residential City - Abu Hamour
(Millions of cubic meters of excavation & backfilling)

- Pumping Station 70 and 15 Km pumping mains - Al Khisa
(40 meter deep lifting pumping station - controlled blasting used)

- Deepening of lagoons Package CP12D - Lusail
(3.5 million cubic meters of excavation & disposal)

- Barwa Al Khor (400,000m3 of backfilling in only 6 months)

- The Island Project - Simaisma
(1.5 million cubic metres of excavation & disposal for a new palace in the sea)

- Secondary Navigation Channel project-Simaisma
(850,000m3 of excavation & disposal, involving construction of coffer dams of 4.2km. Blasting was used as well.)

- Doha Festival City - Umm Salal
(Enabling works package 380,000m3 of excavation in hard rock near residential area with very strict safety & environmental standards.)

- New Doha Port Project
(At Wakra. 2 million cubic metres of drilling & blasting completed in just twelve months)

Our earthworks division boasts a fleet of more than 150 Tipper/ Dumper Trucks, 100+ earth-moving equipment, including, large hydraulic CAT, Komatsu & Volvo excavators fitted with heavy duty jack hammers, wheel loaders, graders, bulldozers, rollers, mobile crushers (impact & jaw), Atlas Copco drilling machines, Andrew Sykes dewatering pumps etc.

We are currently executing a prestigious project of strategic importance for Qatar, Mega Reservoirs package no. 3 at Rawdat Rashed for Kahrama. This consists of almost 2million cubic metres of excavation & disposal. It is a challenging project with a disposal location at a distance of 45km, with a contract duration of less than twelve months.
